In a violent showdown in Jenin, Israeli forces killed three Palestinians, including a teenager… and fired missiles from a helicopter during a raid on the occupied West Bank area. The Israeli army said that the raid was carried out to pursue “wanted suspects”. Three Palestinians died as a result of the Israeli aggression on Jenin,” the Palestinian health ministry said, adding that at least 29 others were wounded. The IDF said a “massive exchange of fire” erupted as forces entered the northern West Bank city to arrest “wanted suspects”. The raid began early today morning, with Israeli soldiers storming the camp, firing live ammunition, stun grenades and toxic gas. Israeli Air Force attack helicopters opened fire from the skies over Jenin to help Israeli troops leave the city. This is the first time since the Second Intifada that Israeli helicopters have opened fire while evacuating wounded troops. The Second Intifada had ended in 2005. The Jenin Brigade, a locally based militant group, said its fighters had fired at an Israeli helicopter, forcing it to retreat, and said they had managed to immobilize Israeli military vehicles with gunfire and ambushes.
